In addition to its three core programs — Clube Escolhas, Welcome Sports Club and Playground4All — Social Innovation Sports develops and collaborates on a variety of European projects, local initiatives and one-off actions that support its mission of promoting social inclusion through sport. These projects expand our impact, allow us to test innovative methodologies, and strengthen cross-sectoral networks in the fields of social innovation and community development.

MOVEMENT OF INCLUSION THROUGH SPORT - MID FUNDÃO
A project that uses sport as a tool for the integration of migrants and refugees in the municipality of Fundão. Based on a networking approach, it mobilizes clubs, associations, local authorities, and other local stakeholders, fostering capacity-building for professionals and community workers while structuring a more accessible and inclusive range of sports activities.
MINE - MINE, YOURS, OURS WALL
MINE is a European project that empowers young people aged 10 to 18 to transform school and community spaces through participatory art. Working alongside artists, educators, and local communities, participants create murals that reflect their identities and experiences, fostering creativity, a sense of belonging, and civic engagement, while contributing to more inclusive and welcoming public spaces.

MAMA - MAternity on the bench: proMoting equAlity for women in sports
MAMA is a European project that promotes gender equality and well-being in sport through the creation of maternity-friendly structures and policies. The project seeks to eliminate barriers faced by athletes during pregnancy and motherhood, while empowering sports organizations with tools and best practices to foster more inclusive environments.

F4AC - FOOTBALL FOR A CHANCE
F4aC is a European project that promotes social inclusion, equality, and well-being through football. Aimed primarily at women and girls, migrants, refugees, and vulnerable individuals, the project is developing a digital platform featuring educational resources and a map of inclusive football spaces, thereby fostering access to sport, participation, and new opportunities for personal and professional development.

INTEGRATION OF REFUGEES THROUGH SPORT - IRTS
A global initiative dedicated to the integration of refugees through sport, reinforcing the sector’s evidence base, capacity, and social impact. SIS is one of the national implementing partners in Portugal, helping scale inclusive practices and promote access to sport for displaced populations.

SIS EXPRESS
A project focused on sustainable last-mile delivery using bicycles and walking routes, promoting youth employability and social inclusion. SIS co-manages the logistics hub in Oeiras and supports the professional integration of young people from vulnerable backgrounds.

RECOVER
A European project that leverages sport and physical activity to support the recovery and reintegration of victims of human trafficking. It includes specialized training for sports and social professionals on trauma-informed and inclusive practices, adapted physical activities for survivors, and community awareness campaigns to foster safe spaces and healing environments.

YOUTH EMPOWERMENT THROUGH ROLE MODELS - YERM
This Erasmus+ initiative promotes youth empowerment through sport and peer learning. It trains young leaders to become positive role models in their communities. SIS is one of the key partners responsible for developing the training methodology and coordinating local implementation in Portugal.

KICKING GOALS FOR THE PLANET - FPF
An initiative by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) to promote sustainability and social inclusion within the women’s football league, Liga BPI. SIS is one of the specialized partners supporting clubs in adopting ESG practices and enhancing their role as agents of social change.

A project aimed at boosting youth entrepreneurship and strengthening local communities through inclusive, sustainable, and collaborative actions. With a special focus on social impact, sport is used as a key tool for community empowerment, active citizenship, and social integration.

A European project that encourages cooperation between schools and sports clubs, promoting the shared use of sports infrastructure and revitalizing schoolyards as inclusive community spaces, supported by collaborative management models.
