W JOBS
W Jobs is the employability aspect of the Welcome Sports Club, created in 2021 to promote the socio-professional integration of migrants and refugees in Portugal. Using sports as a platform for mobilization and skills development, the project brings participants closer to the job market and acts as a bridge with the business community. Its intervention combines career guidance, practical training, and real-world work experiences, always with the goal of increasing autonomy, strengthening confidence, and creating equal opportunities for the future.

THE PROBLEM
-
Migrants and refugees face barriers to accessing the job market, language difficulties, or a lack of contact networks.
-
There is limited recognition of skills and qualifications, which makes it difficult to value the experiences and training acquired in countries of origin.
-
Many only have access to precarious or informal jobs, with no prospects for advancement, which exacerbates social and economic exclusion.

THE ANSWER
W Jobs' response involves a practical and participatory methodology designed to bring migrants and refugees closer to the job market. The program comprises several stages: individual assessment, career guidance, intensive training through the "My Dream Job" bootcamp, job tours, internships, and on-the-job mentoring. In addition to these stages, it also includes sports activities with companies and inclusive team-building opportunities, which promote direct contact, the creation of trusting networks, and mutual appreciation.
